BIUST steps up

In the wake of the official launch of Botswana’s National Clean-Up Campaign by President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko, the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) has stepped forward with purpose, pride, and a clear commitment to action.

On Saturday, 11th April, BIUST ignited its six-month clean-up campaign with a powerful first step led by the School of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering. From the outset, the team brought more than just tools, they brought energy, unity, and a deep sense of responsibility, they embodied this year’s rallying call: “A shared responsibility, a generation stepping up.”

The campaign’s opening effort unfolded in the Khurumela community, where the impact was immediate and deeply felt. Residents responded with heartfelt appreciation, a testament to how even the simplest acts of picking up litter, restoring shared spaces, can ripple outward into something far greater.
BIUST has made its stance known: a cleaner environment begins with us, and the time to act is now.
