The University is looking for qualified and experienced individuals for the below-stated positions;
The position is based at BIUST Campus, Palapye.
The successful candidate will be appointed on a pensionable or fixed-term contract basis.
Main Purpose Of The Job
The incumbent will be responsible for senior level decision making, day to day management and strategic direction to the financial management and reporting functions to ensure the financial integrity of the University through accurate and timely financial records, overall procurement functions in accordance with established procurement policies, procedures and regulations, whilst ensuring economy, efficiency, transparency, fairness, accountability/ethical standards and promoting competition. To expertly guide the work of the department’s staff, steer them towards effective delivery of the department’s mandate and achievement of its goals, and ensure optimal use of all resources within the department.
Qualifications/ Requirements
Academic Qualification:
At least a Masters in Finance or related field from a recognised institution.
Professional Certification:
Professional accountancy certification such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS, ACPA or equivalent.
Specialized Knowledge and Technical Skills:
IAS, IFRS and IPSAS
Experience
- At least ten (10) years of finance post-qualification experience, five (5) years of should have been at Assistant Director level or equivalent.
- Experience in financial planning management and reporting fiscal management, capital development projects, risk management accounting and financial accounting in big organisation and experience in Oracle is essential
