BIUST HOSTS AMBASSADOR OF THE UNITED STATES TO BOTSWANA

Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) had the honour of welcoming Ambassador Howard A. Van Vranken, the distinguished Ambassador of the United States to the Republic of Botswana, to its campus on the 14th of March 2024. The occasion marked a significant milestone in fostering diplomatic relations and promoting educational partnerships between the two nations.

In his welcoming remarks, Professor Otlogetswe Totolo, the Vice Chancellor of BIUST extended a warm reception to Ambassador Van Vranken, acknowledging his esteemed service and dedication to strengthening ties between Botswana and the United States. The visit underscored the importance of education as a catalyst for building bridges of understanding and collaboration across borders.

BIUST takes immense pride in its role as a global centre of learning, innovation, and diversity. programs such as the Fulbright Fellowship.

 

Furthermore, the Vice Chancellor outlined ongoing efforts to expand collaboration with US institutions, including joint research projects, academic exchanges, and initiatives in emerging fields such as aerospace technology and renewable energy. Ambassador Van Vranken’s visit provided an opportunity to explore potential areas of partnership and cooperation between BIUST and US institutions, with a focus on
