On February 18, 2016, BIUST had its inaugural graduation ceremony, where 58 graduates received their BSc and MSc degrees. The ceremony was a signicant milestone for the university since it represented the f ruition of many years of toil and devotion on the part of Sta and students. As they crossed the stage to accept their well-earned degrees, the graduates were overcome with a sense of pride and accomplishment. “ To-date, we have contributed over 2,000 engineers, scientists and technologists to the Botswana economy, some of them are entrepreneurs and have set-up companiesu ch as Biowatt Botswana (Pty) Ltd , BulbWorld (Pty) Ltd Drones 4 Africa, amongst others.
Festivals, Science Circus, Girls Excelling in Mathematics and Science (GEMS), Mentorship Programmes, Literacy Projects, Research, and Innovating Symposiums . All these activities are implemented to drive BIUST Vision and Mission, and encouraged cooperation between BIUST and diverse stakeholders like schools, business partners, and governmental organisations. Through these programmes, BIUST has been successful in fostering an innovative and scientically curious culture among students , professionals and general citizenry.
BIUST believes that by working together with partners, collaborators and stakeholder s, we can address the scientific and technological challenges in Botswana and contribute to the economic development and ensure diversification and sustainability of the economy of Botswana .
