Annually, the university allocates some funds for Research Initiation Grants. These grant are for funding the research projects aligned to the Research Focus Areas of the University. The distribution of funds is done accordingly to the relevant BIUST policy and guidelines.

The Office of Research, Development and Innovation (ORDI) promotes research and program best practices in grant administration. The office helps to identify funding sources and completion required grant submissions processes. It facilitates research sustainability through the support and/or coordination of faculty development initiatives and orients principal investigators and staff upon receipt of grants. The office oversees compliance with funding agency regulations and standards. Ensure the timely submission of progress reports.
