The Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) in collaboration with the Max Planck Gesellschaft (Germany) will host an International School of Astronomy for African Students (BMAAS – BIUST MPG African Astronomy School) on June 26-July 7, 2003, covering a range of current topics in astrophysics and adopting a hands-on approach. Lecturers will come from institutions in Europe (Sweden, Spain, The Netherlands, Germany) and Africa (South Africa, Madagascar, Nigeria, Ethiopia). There will also be sessions dedicated to outreach in the local community and visits to local schools.
