The University is looking for qualified and experienced individuals for the position;
The position is based at BIUST Campus, Palapye
Main Purpose Of The Job
Teach and educate undergraduate and graduate students in an academic discipline. Build the knowledge base of a relevant field in the discipline through research and publication. Lead and manage certain teaching and research activities within a discipline in the department. Be active in some form of professional service. Source external and/or internal research funding from national or international donors. Demonstrate and foster excellence in research, teaching, and service. Be ambitious in terms of promote personal professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
A PhD in a Sociology or related area from a recognized institution.
Professional Certification:
Registration with the appropriate professional body where applicable.
Experience:
- At least 6 years post-doctoral experience in either teaching/lecturing/research or industry experience in the relevant field or discipline, at least 4 of which must be in Graduate supervision including successful doctoral students. Experience in teaching at tertiary level for at least 3 years.
- A sustained and recent record of peer-reviewed publications and other research output over at least a six-year period (min. of 16 peer-reviewed publications of ISI journals).
- Experience of obtaining external research funding.
- Evidence of accreditation as assessor and moderator from a recognized Qualification Authority (e.g. BQA).
