During a heartfelt address, Acting Vice-Chancellor Mr Davies Tele warmly welcomed the members of Ntlo ya Dikgosi, hailing their visit as a testament to their recognition of the university’s importance in Botswana’s academic landscape. He noted the Ntlo ya Dikgosi’s pivotal role as policymakers, whose guidance would prove instrumental in influencing decisions that would benefit BIUST.
“Your esteemed council serves as stewards of moral guidance, cooperation, and mentorship, rendering it imperative for us to learn from and appreciate your services and facilities,” said Mr. Tele. “This visit is an opportune moment to strengthen the bond between academic institutions and traditional leadership, fostering a collaborative approach to advancing our nation’s development.”

Kgosi Mbao Kahiko III, the Deputy Chairperson of Ntlo ya Dikgosi, praised BIUST for its remarkable contributions to propelling Botswana towards a knowledge-based economy during a closing ceremony. He urged the university to continue engaging with Batswana, tackling societal challenges through research, and to build on its recent success in being included on a world ranking list.
