For preventative purposes health services in conjunction with health and well-being office, and Counselling provides information, to reduce:

  • Infectious and communicable diseases;
  • Unintended pregnancies;
  • Tobacco use;
  • Alcohol use, especially among minors;
  • Other substance abuse;
  • Avoidable injuries;
  • Sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV infection; and
  • To promote fitness, nutrition and weight control, immunization and routine health maintenance evaluations.

The provision of quality health care requires a doctor/nurse-patient relationship of trust and confidentiality. Consistent with our commitment to quality care, we are mandated to protect patient privacy. [expand title = "read more"] It is necessary for us to collect personal information from students and sometimes others associated with their health care in order to attend to their health needs and for associated administrative purposes. We treat all information as confidential.[/expand]

The clinic is available on BIUST campus, near the cafeteria and sports hall. All health services are available for free for all registered BIUST students, presenting with a valid student ID card.
